"Own your decision, and own who you are, but without apology.” - Anna Wintour

Owning who we are is one of the hardest and bravest things to do.

Just recently I finished watching Anna Wintour’s Masterclass and was truly inspired. Not because of the fashion and glamour of her world, I have been lucky enough to have participated in it at one point in my life, but because she speaks to something more important - HAVING A STRONG VOICE.

As I meditate on Anna’s statement: “Own your decision, and own who you are, but without apology”, I can’t help but wonder how much sometimes we doubt our decisions. We look at what others are doing and think if we should be changing our style and point of view to fit the larger market. And the answer is not a resounding NO but a be open to the new, take in what resonates but always hold on to your true self.

When I look back at my journey as a photographer, the people I’ve worked with and the clients I’ve been blessed to have, I realize how much this idea of staying true has been shared by all.

The photography process is a collaboration. I love clients that have a strong voice and trust my vision as much as I trust theirs. It is a real joy to find clients that know who they are, have a strong vision and trust me to create it together.

I encourage you all to spend some time listening to this brilliant woman who has redefined the world of media and how we see ourselves.
