I met Ram Bhagat many many years ago before I moved to Richmond. At that time he was a teacher for Richmond Public School and a good friend of my father-in-law. From the first time we met, I was intrigued by his energy and commitment to healing the African-American community of Richmond. After moving to Richmond I regularly see Ram at social awareness events and have been blessed to have him be part of my family’s life.

Photographing Ram was one of the most meaningful portrait sessions I have done. His aura and joy were incredibly special to capture.
