The Best Party EVER!
Every now and then I get to photograph a couple that is not only special and unique but also great close friends. Because of the nature of wedding photography, I try to avoid photographing friend’s weddings so I can actually get to enjoy the day with them. However, Sarah and Issac are not your regular couple - and their wedding was not your standard wedding.
Sarah and Isaac were one of the first people I met when I moved to Richmond, VA from NYC. We became friends instantly. Their sense of humor, love for art, literature, and politics made us a perfect match. They fell in love with my little kids and became their surrogate uncle and aunty. When they got engaged during a trip to Cuba I knew that I wanted to not only witness their wedding but to document it.
Isaac, an architect and location scout for films and television in Virginia, was not going to settle for just any wedding venue. He searched and searched until he found the amazing dining hall at Fort Pickett Base. As an extraordinary location scout, he managed to get the base to approve them having their wedding reception there. After a few drinks and conversations about the wedding details, we were all set for the big day.
When the wedding day arrived, at last, it was a HOT summer day in Virginia. We gathered at The Grey Swan Inn for preparations, from there an unforgettable day unfolded perfectly up until late into a night of dancing.
I am so grateful to have these two lovely people in my life. THANK YOU for trusting me with your day.
