What are your fears and/or concerns right now?

Chuck: At almost 79 years old, my fears and concerns are to hopefully stay healthy, be able to live through this virus for as long it takes, and be around to see my granddaughter celebrate her next birthday in person.

Mim: I’m afraid that people aren’t taking this seriously enough. And of course, I’m afraid I’ll get it, or my husband, or members of my family, friends, neighbors. To be honest, I’m afraid for everyone. There are days when this fear is more real and other days I ignore it.

What have you learned from living this new normal?

Chuck: I know that living this new normal has been extremely difficult for most of us, but I’ve learned to accept the challenges that come with it.

Mim: That I have a dual nature. I thought I was an extrovert, but have discovered I’m easily an introvert! And I’m writing a poem every day, which I’ve never done before.

Do you think anything positive will come fr om all of this?

Chuck: I know we’ll eventually get through this together, but I’m confident that this time, we’ll be prepared if it ever happens again.

Mim: I hope we learn to live with less. Be kinder with ourselves and others. Slow down. Be less judgmental. I think creativity and innovation will be take a higher place in the world. It’s what will save us.
